Lisa Jura and her family struggle with what to do as a family after Kristallnacht. Her parents decide to send Lisa on the Kindertransport to live with a cousin she has never met. She is going to a country that she has never been to and she does not speak the same language. Her mother asks her to make a promise to hold on to her music. Why do you think she says this? Also, her mother gives her a picture. What do you think Lisa is feeling as she leaves on the train? How would you feel going by yourself to a new country that speaks a different language by yourself?
