Leaving Your Country Alone

Lisa Jura and her family struggle with what to do as a family after Kristallnacht. Her parents decide to send Lisa on the Kindertransport to live with a cousin she has never met. She is going to a country that she has never been to and she does not speak the same language. Her mother asks her to make a promise to hold on to her music. Why do you think she says this? Also, her mother gives her a picture. What do you think Lisa is feeling as she leaves on the train? How would you feel going by yourself to a new country that speaks a different language by yourself?

I think Lisa's mom says to keep her music because it shows who she is and its a part of her mom too.I think Lisa is feeling as she leaves the train that she's leaving a whole life behind for a new one.If i went to a different coutry with a deifferent language I'd be scared and not be able to speak with anyone else and not know anyone.

Lisa's mother tells her to keep he misic with her because she knows she loves playing instruments and never wants to leave them. Lisa is feeling sad when she leaves to go on the train. i would feel confused because i would not know how anyone spoke on that train and that nobody would like me.

I think her mother says hold on to her music because her mother knows Lisa will be free. Lisa is probably feeling upset because she is leaving her family and everything behind. If I went to knew country that had a different language that I didnt speak, I'd probably feel strange because I'd sound and look different.

She says this because Lisa is talented at playing the piano. Lisa is feeling as she leaves on the train of how her family will miss her and how she will miss them. I feel going by myself to a new country that speaks a different language than me different and i feel like im not accepted in that country.

I think that her mom tellls her to hold on to hermusic becouse tht makes herr happy. I think that lisa feels sad becaouse shes is leaveing her country and herfamily.i wouldfeel scared becaouse i never been there and i wouldnt known how that countrys been like i mean the way they umm act!:)

I would if in when to new country that speaks a different language then me I would feel letf out and not doing what to in the country that i dont know the language. and when they looking at you and the start talk it will feel that they are talking about you because they start to laugh and im not knowing what they are talking about. you will feel that you want to cry and leave the country.

I think her mother says she should hold on to her music because whenever she is lost and has nothing to do, or she is depressed she can always go back to something that reminds her of home. Her mother gives her a picture of herself, because she wants her to remember her. I think Lisa is feeling lonesome on the train, because she has been sent away from her family and all she knows and loves. I would feel out of place, because I can't comuncate with others and I wouldn't know what is going on.
