There are many times in history that we wish we could have talked to those who experienced the events. Anne Frank gave us a personnel account on what she was feeling in hiding during the Holocaust. If you could write to Anne what would you say? What types of questions would you ask her and why?

If I were writing to Anne, I would tell her how much I admire how strong she was during this whole situation. She kept her cool around the other inhabitants and never disrespected anyone. I would ask her how it felt to live in fear that one day she could be taken away from her family and possibly killed. I would also ask her HOW she kept her cool during all the arguments and ridicule she was going through.

I admire her as well for being strong and keeping calm during hiding. How would you feel if you were taken from your family after thinking you were safe?

I would feel awful if I was taken from my family after thinking we were safe. If I were in hiding for over 2 years and then was discovered and taken away, I would feel as if the whole experience was a waste.

I wonder how she kept her cool, too. It was most likely very hard.

To Anne Frank I would say that it is incredable they hid for 25 months from the nazis. I would ask Anne if she regretted any remarks about the others. I would ask Anne this to see how she really felt about them.

Kevin, I also believe that hiding for 25 months is amazing. How do you think they stayed there the entire time?

I believe they hid that long because of luck and help

If I could write to Anne I would say how she was feeling when everyone criticizes her with everything she says or does. I would also ask her what are some things to make herself feel better and the things she does to get over it. One question I would ask her would be how do you feel since you came into the "Secret Annexe"? Or what would you do to make yourself not feel like you are just dirt?

I think Anne would answer to my questions by saying that she just been in the moods of being mad then being sad and then being happy. Also I think she would say that just writing in her diary makes her feel like she isn't dirt.

If I could write to Anne, I would say to her that I could not stand living in one place without able to get out of it, I would get frustrated. I would ask her, if she ever thought of getting out of the Secret Annexe, because she could of thought it to get out of the place.

Jose, I agree it would be frustrating not to go outside! Where do you think she would go if she got out of the secret annexe?

Personally I think that if she got of the Secret Annexe I think that she would visit a park, because she has been talking of how nature makes her feel happy.

Jose, i agree it would make you angry to not go outside, but if you go outside you are risking beeing caught or killed. Is there anywhere in the building you think she could go besides outside to get get out of the anexxe?

I would ask , anne frank how she feels to be forced into hiding becuase of her religion . I would ask her questions on what she misses the most about being in her usual life.I would ask this ,becuase i couldnt bear the idea of being put away for my religion,or being who i am.

Perla, (Capitalize names and I) I think asking what she misses the most is a good idea. After reading her personal thoughts, what do you think she misses the most?

If i could write to Anne and ask her questions, I would tell her how brave she was to be able to live in hiding. The questions i would ask her are how she was able to write so much her dairy without having to tell anyone what she wrote, who was here least favorite person in the house, and did you ever worry about her cat.

Jay, she was a brave girl, I do not think it would be easy at all to be in hiding fearful of being caught. How would she answer your questions after reading about her personal thoughts?

I think that Anne would awnser my questions as the following. "I wrote in a personal place, My least favorite person is Mrs. Van Daan, and yes, I do worry about my cat."

Jay, I agree that she was brave. You wouldn't catch me living with the Van Daan's for two years.

If I could write Anne I would tell her that I hope she stays strong and courageous so that she will make it through the Holocaust safe along with her family. If I were to ask her a question I would ask her if at any time, when would she choose to leave the Secret Annexe if she were aloud to.

Miss Witka if she were to respond to the question I think she would say that she wouldn't leave the Secret Annexe because she has to many people there that she has grown close to.

Veronica I asked if she could leave

If i had the chance to ask Anne something it would be why she focused mainly on the situation in the Anexxe but not mainly on the war.

Andrew, I think that that is something to think about, because the war was very important. Why do you think that she thought more of the Annexe.

Andrew I think she focused on the situation so she could ignore the fact that the war was going on around her.
